July can often appear to be a quieter month for business schools, with universities moving into the summer period. But while campuses may be quieter, our schools continued to make a significant media impact. They both pioneered and remained active contributors to conversations around AI, entrepreneurship, education, technology and society.

One of July’s standout pieces we secured on Forbes, which brought together expertise from five BlueSky clients – Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, Trinity Business School, emlyon business school, Bocconi University and OPIT – Open Institute of Technology, to examine why the companies succeeding with AI are augmenting employees rather than replacing them. The feature positioned our clients at the centre of one of business’s biggest debates, with commentary spanning leadership, workplace culture, AI trust and the growing challenge of “workslop,” while reaching Forbes’ global audience of business leaders, executives and policymakers.

Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow secured coverage via us in the Chartered Association of Business Schools’ Insights platform through an opinion piece by Sir Anton Muscatelli, exploring graduate skills and education in an AI-enabled economy. The piece positions Adam Smith at the centre of debates around how universities can prepare graduates for a rapidly changing labour market; whilst doing so in a leading and highly respected national publication within Higher Education in the UK.

Aalto University School of Business and Mannheim Business School featured in QS Insights Magazine in a piece examining the freedom of choice available to students and the stress and uncertainty that can accompany it. The coverage highlights the school’s contribution to understanding the changing student experience, while reaching a highly relevant international higher education audience.

Aalto also featured alongside NEOMA Business School, Estonian Business School, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and POLIMI Graduate School of Business in Poets&Quants, exploring how European business schools are using entrepreneurship education to help students create their own jobs. The feature positions our clients at the forefront of a growing movement towards entrepreneurial and practical business education, while providing valuable exposure in one of the sector’s leading publications.

Porto Business School featured in GMAC guidance exploring the best age to pursue an MBA. The coverage highlighted the increasingly diverse backgrounds and career stages of MBA candidates, providing Porto with valuable visibility among prospective international students and reinforcing its expertise in management education.

Another great hit - emlyon, Frankfurt and Aalto were featured in The Times in a piece examining what UK businesses can learn from overseas approaches to workplace culture. The coverage demonstrates the international relevance of our clients’ expertise and brings European business school perspectives to a broad international audience.

One of July’s standout stories that we’re proud of was on TechCrunch which featured emlyon and Imperial Business School. It covered research examining why venture capital-backed startups are more likely to commit fraud. The story subsequently generated more than 30 further pieces of coverage, demonstrating the powerful multiplier effect of securing research in a major mainstream publication and how one strong placement can create a much wider media footprint.

INSEAD featured in HuffPost through expert insight exploring where, when and why people perceive class differences. The coverage brought INSEAD research into a mainstream conversation around social identity and inequality, reaching an audience well beyond traditional business education media.

And Trinity Business School secured major international exposure through Euronews for research examining how quickly people can form strong opinions based on just a handful of social media posts. The research highlighted the implications for misinformation and public debate, while placing Trinity at the centre of a highly relevant conversation about how social media is shaping public opinion.

The Euronews story subsequently generated around 50 further pieces of coverage, significantly extending the reach of the original research. It is another strong example of the value of securing a major mainstream placement, with one credible initial story providing the catalyst for widespread further coverage across international media.

Taken together, July demonstrates that summer does not have to mean a slowdown in media impact. From AI and graduate skills to entrepreneurship, workplace culture and social media, our clients continued to provide expertise on some of the biggest issues facing business and society thanks to our great work. The month also demonstrated the value of strategic research-led PR, with TechCrunch generating more than 30 additional stories and Euronews around 50, showing how the right research in the right publication can create significant media momentum.
